In December 2024, Professor Alán Aspuru-Guzik from the Department of Chemistry was honored with the PRISM Prize 2024-Senior category by the Istituto di Struttura della Materia (ISM) in recognition of his remarkable contributions on the structure of matter.

During the award ceremony in Rome, Aspuru-Guzik discussed the transformative potential of self-driving laboratories in materials science research. In his address, he emphasized the necessity for materials discovery researchers to surpass basic computational screening methods followed by conventional experimentation.
