Alán Aspuru-Guzik Named Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

Alán Aspuru-Guzik professor of chemistry and computer science, has been honoured as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), one of the countrie's most prestigious academic accolades. Since joining University of Toronto in 2018, Aspuru-Guzik has significantly contributed to the fields of chemistry and computer science, notably co-directing the Matter Lab and pioneering advancements like AI-discovered drug candidates and organic flow batteries.

His work, funded by a record $200-million grant from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, emphasizes innovation through self-driving labs aiming to tackle global challenges such as climate change. Aspuru-Guzik, who is also a CQIQC member, also specializes in quantum computing.
